May Sunshine

Our dear Elisa,
May is here again and it marks 365days+37weeks and 5 days of knowing you
And we still remember how it all began like it was yesterday
It was somewhere on October 2007 morning that we were pleasantly surprised upon seeing the sign of our answered prayer
It was that morning that Mama whispered to your Papa "Happy Father's Day" which woke him up instantly from his sleep
You filled us with joy and you beat the odds of worries and uncertainties
And we can never forget the first time we felt you moved and that first kick
And you were one active baby, constantly moving and showing off your strong kicks!
Each month passed by and each month we witnessed how much you've grown
The gynae visits became the highlights of the month which we always looked forward to and eagerly waiting just to 'meet' you
36th week came and Mama got a taste of the contractions and Mama knew that the time is near to finally meet the person whom Mama have grown to love so much
True enough by the 37th week (+5 days) Mama was in labour and Mama was strangely ripped off of any labour fear and was one happy lady in the operating room
Sheer happiness greeted Mama when Mama heard your cry and subhanAllah Mama felt in love the second Mama saw you
You were just perfect, rosy pink and all
It was the day that Mama became a mother
And your Papa..he was just so proud of being a father to a lovely daughter
A year has passed and we witnessed each of your milestone
The once timid crying baby has grown to be an active, outgoing, friendly and chatty baby that you are now
You are determined to learn new things. You seem fearless
You are that fuzzy feeling in our hearts
You are reason that God gave us strength to move on
You are that smile at the end of a tiring day
You are that tiny hands that hold us together
Happy 1st year sunshine, you are the best present that we could ever asked for.

baby steps

Elisa has been wanting to walk a lot when we go out these couple of days. This is her walking out of Toys R Us after us shopping for her birthday present. Doing that 1st baby step on your birthday sayang? :)

Mother's Day is made of these.

You know you're a full-time mom when your day only starts when the lil' one sleeps for the night. And by the time I have time for myself, I'll be too exhausted to last long in front of the PC, let alone update the blog or upload some overdue pictures.
These past 2 days Elisa has got sick, same like she did the previous time. Running nose, cough & phlegm. So this being Mother's Day, I get to do just that, mothering to my dear sick Elisa. She hardly sleeps at night, waking up when she gets choked up with the phlegm which she vomit out on the 1st night. Nvm the fact that I can only manage 3 hours of sleep last night, get well soon ok sunshine coz you have a date with Mama & Papa come 23rd May ;-)

2 more weeks to her big 1, although she has yet to walk, Elisa never fails to amaze us with new things she has picked up.
Elisa's first words were Mama & Papa. She called us by that on the same day.
Elisa can point out her finger & say 'there!'
She claps especially when we say "yeeey" or when she hear another clapping sound eg. on TV
Elisa can fly-kiss. And she can recognize when we say "kiss?", she'll do the fly-kiss.
Elisa can salam our hands complete with her sloppy wet kiss.
Elisa smacks her head with her palm when we say "alaaamaaak!". Apparently she has been observing her Papa antics while watching soccer doing just that. LOL.
Elisa will kiss her Mama on the cheeks when being asked "kiss Mama?"
Elisa started off doing the waving motion with her hand and saying "tataaa" now she says "bye byee"
Elisa loves to jump on the spot & would say "Daaam!". That's her word for jump.
Elisa sometimes plays peek-a-boo with us from her cot. She will lower her body standing in her cot & will jump and say "Daaaaa!" when we come close. That's her word for "Baaaaa!"
Elisa dances by rocking her body up and down. One of her current fav tune is the 'Are you smarter than a 5th grader' show. hehe.
Elisa teases her Papa by poking his nipples and belly button then laugh. (don't ask me why hehe).
Elisa does the 'wait wait!' motion with her hands.

The day she turns 11 months, her Yayi got warded to NUH (twice) for observation over his chest pain. And as usual there is one person who always chase away the gloom clouds of an hospital stay complete with flying kisses. Even the nurse received much of her wet & sloppy flying kisses hehe.

speed runner

Elisa the speed runner. She's turning 1 next month and we're eagerly waiting for that 1st step. On another note, Elisa has grown 2 of her lower front teeth since last month which earned her the nickname lil' hippo from her Papa hehe.

Last Sunday it was a family gathering to celebrate Hairi's niece Nur Arina's birthday and Elisa was thrilled to meet her baby friend Shafi whom she first met during her hair snipping ceremony back when she was 3 months old.
And 7 months on what a difference in the way her character has developed. From a timid infant she once was who often cry at the sight of a stranger to a very outgoing & friendly pre-toddler she now is. She literally wanna smothers the boy with hugs and kisses much to the amusement of others who commented that maybe she wants an adek or a younger sibling. (the mummy won't mind that at all heh)

Elisa has developed a liking for rides

And on weekdays on our trips to EastPt mall, we will always let her play @ her favourite playground letting her interact & play with the other kids and let her practise walking all she want. She enjoys herself everytime even calling out to the other kids till a point that she sometimes forget that we were there too heh. My baby simply can't wait to grow up :)

sleepless nights

Elisa's cough & phlegm got worse on Friday evening and she's been vomiting almost every night and was very uncomfortable in her sleep. I got seriously worried, waited for Hairi to get back from his school and decided not to wait it out till morning. So we headed to KKH A&E which ended up a miserable 2 hours wait. However we were glad when the doctor informed us that she's pretty alright, no fever, chest is clear and that the vomit is baby's way of expelling the phlegm.
But it wasn't all good news as the following day, I got seriously sick as well. I have been sneezing non-stop and my body is aching all over. Yes I got sick initially then Elisa got it from me, I got slightly better then I got the flu from Elisa again so now we have a pair of seriously sick mummy & baby. Get well soon ok sayang...& so will Mama *sniff sniff*
